While initially Frankenstein's Fortune seems to be a normal Blueprint-sized game with a slightly humorous horror theme, the bonus features kick in and the jars get filled, collect symbols appear on the reels and all of a sudden the game gets a whole lot busier than it did with those ten reels and ten pay lines.
This review of Frankenstein's Fortune covers all aspects of the game, including RTP, volatility, potential for maximum wins, Frankie Spins, Cash Spins, Cash Trail, collecting cash values, mobile gaming and whether this game is worth taking seriously among other Blueprint collect slots. And I'd say, to my surprise, there's quite a bit of character here.
Frankenstein's Fortune is a video slot developed by Blueprint Gaming. The game is set in a classic laboratory where electricity crackles around the edges of the reels, bubbles form in large glass jars and Frankenstein's monster moves around in a cartoon style.
From what I've seen so far, Blueprint has definitely gone heavy on their collect style slot formula. If you're familiar with other Blueprint collect games then you'll likely find parts of Frankenstein's Fortune to be familiar. Large amounts of cash symbols land randomly across the reels, collecting symbols accumulate the total amount of cash symbols displayed, and there are multiple levels of bonus systems leading up to larger round types.
Something else I wanted to mention upfront is the RTP. With an RTP of 95%, Frankenstein's Fortune sits lower than what many gamers expect from their slots. While this certainly won't kill the game for anyone, this is something you want to know about when comparing RTP values from one game to another before spending your bankroll. Some casinos also offer even lower RTP versions of the game at 93% and 92%.
As mentioned earlier, the RTP on Frankenstein's Fortune is 95%. While this certainly won't destroy your bankroll, it is something you'll want to consider when looking for new places to spend your hard-earned money.

I was surprised at how playful the game felt compared to how you'd think a horror-themed slot machine would be. Frankenstein's Fortune doesn't try to scare you. It takes the idea of the classic monster in a lab setting and turns it into an animated laboratory adventure.
Inside of the metal frame that holds the reels, there are large glass jars bubbling over with who knows what kind of liquid. There is always electricity zapping around the outside edge of the reels. In addition to that, green goo oozes down from machines in the background. The monster itself looks more like he wants to play pranks than cause harm.
In retrospect, I'm glad they went this route.
A lot of times slots with horror themes can feel tired because developers throw too much drama at you. They put lightning bolts flying everywhere. They put red font screaming everywhere. They have an epic score playing everywhere. While all that sounds cool at first, it can quickly become overwhelming after thirty minutes or an hour of non-stop action.
Not so with Frankenstein's Fortune. They kept things calm and collected with nice animations and clean reel designs. They also kept their soundtrack simple. You get lab noise. You get electric sparks. You get some creepy music in the background. But none of it gets crazy. Your sessions stay relaxed even if you play for hours. And that means more than you think.
For example, there are plenty of slots that look amazing for the first five minutes and are still okay after twenty-five minutes. After thirty minutes, however, you start getting annoyed.
Frankenstein's Fortune maintains its pacing and doesn't get overly aggressive in terms of flashing lights or dramatic music. So it stays interesting for longer.
Gameplay-wise, Frankenstein's Fortune is pretty basic. It has five reels, three rows and ten fixed paylines. Wins pay from left to right starting on reel one.
Lower-paying symbols consist of royal cards and common lab equipment pieces. Higher-paying premium symbols consist of Frankenstein-themed monsters and related imagery.
However, what really drives the game are:
These four symbols are essentially what allow the gameplay to become more active than the reels suggest.
Most slots work off free spins. Not so with Frankenstein's Fortune. Most of its gameplay comes from collecting cash values and building up feature jars over time. So this changes how you see your spins.
Sometimes your spins are quiet, then all of a sudden several collect interactions occur at once and your game becomes more active than ever before.
The collect symbol mechanic is basically what powers Frankenstein's Fortune.
Cash symbols land mostly on reels 2-5 showing different cash values. Collect symbols land on reel 1. When a collect symbol lands next to a cash symbol on reel 1, the collect symbol collects all cash values that were present on the reels at that time.
This instantaneously changes how you look at your reels. Now you're thinking about how many cash symbols appear on each spin before you land a collect symbol. This creates natural tension on your end.
Also included in this is an "it's alive!" mechanism that can turn the collect symbol into a larger symbol that can collect even more values across reels. Sometimes multipliers are applied during these moments too with multipliers potentially going up to x5.
This adds significant momentum to your base gameplay. Otherwise line wins would be too small on their own.
One of the more enjoyable mechanics within Frankenstein's Fortune is the Frankie Time feature.
Randomly throughout your session, the lab above the reels will activate, introducing temporary reel modifiers. These can significantly impact how successful a single spin is without triggering a complete bonus round.
Here are some examples of potential Frankie Time modifiers:
This random element adds a great deal of variance to your sessions, preventing you from settling into a rhythm that's too predictable.
To me personally, Frankie Time plays a huge role in giving Frankenstein's Fortune its personality. Without Frankie Time, I believe Frankenstein's Fortune would be almost indistinguishable from several older Blueprint collect slots.
But because Frankie Time introduces randomness and chaos to your sessions in a positive way, it provides those moments when your reels seem chaotic in a fun way.
Overhead of the reels are three color-coded jars:
Each jar corresponds to one type of feature mode. Each time a bonus symbol lands in its respective jar, when the corresponding feature fills its jar, that feature is triggered.
This progressive system is possibly one of the strongest ideas in Frankenstein's Fortune because it gives players visual evidence that their progress is being made even when they're experiencing slow spells. You can literally watch as your jars fill with values while waiting for larger bonus rounds to come along.
That psychological factor shouldn't be overlooked.
If a session has been producing minimal results thus far, seeing your jars fill still produces interest.
Each jar unlocks a separate feature mode:
And each feature changes gameplay differently.
The Frankie Spins bonus round is probably the most visually appealing bonus round in Frankstein's Fortune.
The reels open up into a 5x5 grid, allowing for much more room for symbols, collect mechanisms, and bonus interactions than you had originally allowed for with the 5x3 grid used in regular gameplay.
Simply put, the larger grid makes the feature feel much different than regular gameplay.
The feature starts at five spins; however, additional spins can be awarded via modifiers and other feature activations.
During Frankie Spins, special symbols are introduced that enhance how well your bonus round performs relative to how many spins you've got left. Larger collect areas will be enhanced during these times as well as multiplier values that can reach up to x5.
This is where the slot really shines.
With the larger grid providing better momentum, combined with the increased volatility due to collect symbols coming together, these are typically where your biggest moments occur in terms of winning big.
Cash Spins completely flips gameplay around into a more concentrated collect style format.
When Cash Spins starts, you're given ten spins with a much higher frequency of cash symbols landing across the reels. Collecting symbols are also greatly emphasized since nearly every spin has cash value opportunities available on-screen somewhere.
Just like during Frankie Spins, during Cash Spins as well, multipliers are accumulated more frequently as well as collect areas expanding during large collection opportunities, making the game feel more explosive with each spin.
Compared to Frankie Spins, Cash Spins feels less visually dynamic but tends to be more focused on directly maximizing your winnings per session.
You spend less time viewing transformations occurring and more time waiting for those giant collection opportunities.
Honestly, some players will probably prefer this feature simply because it creates more linear gameplay experiences for them as well as providing more obvious payout opportunity patterns.
Cash Trail is arguably the weirdest feature found in Frankenstein's Fortune.
Rather than focus solely on reel-based gameplay, Cash Trail introduces a progression-based bonus trail system where multipliers and prize values are increased with each stage reached by players.
During Cash Trail, occasionally Frankie's Big Money mode will initiate awarding random cash prizes anywhere from 50x to 1000x bet size depending on what happens during that session.
In essence Cash Trail can be viewed as somewhat like a separate mini-game built-in to your slot machine experience.
Some players will love the added variability. Other players may prefer some or all of the direct reel-based gameplay of Frankie Spins/Cash Spins. Personally, I liked that Blueprint tried to shake up their usual routine and provide something new, even if it wasn't perfectly executed.
The RTP of Frankenstein's Fortune sits at approximately 95%; however, some versions offered through casinos have lower RTPs (such as 92%).
The RTP figures themselves aren't bad, but they are a little behind many newer slot releases (which average upwards towards 96%+).
High volatility means your payouts will happen irregularly and infrequently in some cases. Dry spells are extremely common when using this type of volatility model. A sequence of poor luck combined with collect symbols failing to land can lead to frustration quickly rising as players attempt to wait patiently for a major win event to occur...only for it to never materialize.
According to official documentation, Frankenstein's Fortune offers a maximum win potential of 2,500x bet size.
While this number isn't terrible, some players seeking extreme jackpot wins will likely be disappointed with this lowball estimate.
The reason Frankenstein's Fortune is successful lies in that it knows what it can do. This is not an attempt at producing a huge, competitive slot. The focus of this title is on developing a high-energy, feature-rich gaming experience through collecting, lab-style visual effects and progressions within the bonus round.
It has enough energy to be exciting, but does not get too intense. Frankie Spins produces the best-looking elements; Cash Spins allows for more focused payouts; Cash Trail provides additional variability; and Frankie Time ensures the base game never gets boring.
Will I recommend it to those seeking large max win payouts? No.
Will I recommend it to players enjoying Blueprint collect slots, horror-themed titles with heavy features? Yes.
Honestly, there are few new games currently available that have as much character in terms of both their humorous monster graphics and layered mechanics as Frankenstein's Fortune.
The RTP of Frankenstein’s fortune is 95 percent. Some online casinos, however, may have a lower version of Frankenstein’s fortune. These would include RTP versions of 93 percent and 92 percent. Always check the casino details before you begin to play.
Yes. Frankenstein’s Fortune qualifies as a high Volatility slot* Since it is high Volatility, there will be times of low frequency and irregularity of winning. However, since Frankenstein’s fortune incorporates a variety of bonus features such as Frankie Spins, Cash Spins, and enhanced multiplier collects, winning can occur during longer periods of time.
According to advertisements, the maximum payout of Frankenstein’s Fortune is 2,500 times your entire bet. While most large amounts are derived from Frankie Spins, Cash Spins, and the multiplier-enhanced collect areas, there are other ways to generate winnings.
When a collect symbol lands on reel #1 and when the other four reels show visible cash values, then all cash values on those reels are gathered by the collect symbol. In many cases, the collection area will expand, and one or more multipliers may be added. For example, a multiplier of up to x5 can be applied.
Frankie Time is an arbitrary modifier that occurs randomly while the player plays the **base game**. Frankie Time can introduce additional wilds, multipliers, bonus boosters, or other symbols, which can enhance the opportunity for winnings.
While playing the base game, Frankie Spins can transform the standard 5-reels into a 5x5 grid and initiate 5 free spins. Depending upon what type of modifiers are activated (e.g., collect upgrades), the chances of earning significant payouts will likely be increased.
During Cash Spins, players receive 10 free spins with a greatly increased number of cash symbols displayed on each spin. Therefore, Cash Spins places greater emphasis on the collect mechanics and combinations of multiplier awards.
The Cash Trail bonus is similar to a progressive style feature. Players advance through levels that provide increasingly higher multipliers and reward totals. With a minimum prize level of 50 times the stake to a maximum level of 1,000 times the stake (big money mode) for Frankie, this bonus provides players with multiple chances to earn significant rewards.
